The major design challenge was to create a unique image for a congregation relocating to a new community, while maintaining the history and traditions.
When designing a place of worship, it is especially important that an architect create a structure that encompasses tradition, comfort and awe. The Shaarey Tefilla temple projects the history and traditions of Judaism while also serving as a distinctive part of Carmel’s cityscape. As a congregation relocating to a new community, it was important to Shaarey Tefilla that their synagogue project a unique image while maintaining appropriate traditional elements.
